Each person must decide for himself whether to quietly stand by and allow unsustainable cutting to continue or to do something toward sustainable management of our white pine heritage. The most important thing the public can do is talk to our elected officials and to the foresters we pay to manage our public forests. They're becoming aware that the public cares about the future of white pines in Minnesota. They welcome public input, and there are several opportunities for improvement that we can talk to them about.
